COVID-19 and Fertility: What Current Research Shows
Despite circulating concerns, there is currently no conclusive evidence that either COVID-19 infection or COVID-19 vaccines cause fertility problems in men or women, according to health experts.
While misinformation regarding fertility impacts continues to spread across social media and other platforms, the scientific community emphasizes that available data does not support these claims.
“As much as certain people would have you believe, there’s no conclusive data that shows either COVID or the COVID vaccine causes infertility in either men or women,” notes the health professional in the statement.
The statement acknowledges that research is ongoing, as scientists continue to study both the virus and vaccines. “We are still learning about both COVID as well as the vaccine, and this continual research is ongoing,” the expert explains.
This position aligns with major health organizations worldwide, which have consistently reported no evidence linking COVID-19 vaccines to fertility issues. Many health authorities recommend vaccination for people who are trying to become pregnant or may consider pregnancy in the future.
As with many aspects of the pandemic, understanding continues to evolve as more research is conducted and analyzed. However, the current scientific consensus remains clear: “There’s no conclusive data currently that shows either men or women are experiencing any infertility issues as a result of COVID or the COVID vaccine.”
